How I Stay Organized and Prepared for my Workouts
Uncharged headphones. A broken hair tie. No energy. No food. Forgot my watch. The many excuses I’ve given myself to either not start or finish a workout. When I made the change to AM workouts, I knew that the only way I’d follow through was if I organized myself the night before so I knew ALL of my gym essentials were ready to go. So today I’m sharing with you my workout essentials and all the items that make my gym bag complete and prepared for every workout!

THE ESSENTIALS

PRE-WORKOUT
Blender Bottle : I remember when I would judge the meat-heads in the gym carrying around these shaker bottles. But now I get it! They’re SO practical and versatile. I mix my pre-workout in this before I leave for the gym, and then I refill it with water several times throughout my workout (STAY HYDRATED!). It’s also great for a post-workout protein shake!
Alani Nu Pre-Workout : I look forward to drinking this every single morning. It’s SO tasty and gives me the exact amount of energy I need without the jitters or a crash. Best flavor? MIMOSA!

INTRA-WORKOUT
Fitness Tracker :ย Did you even workout if you didnโt track it? Iโve had my Apple Watch for almost 3 years, and itโs one of the best investments Iโve ever made. I love that it tracks my steps, calories burned, activity levels, and heart rate. Itโs what motivates me to be active! I canโt say itโs better or worse than any other fitness tracker, but itโs what works for me.
Wireless Headphones :ย If you own wireless headphones, you know how much more efficient a workout can be when you donโt have to worry about a string connecting from your head to your phone. I love my Powerbeats Pro, but Amazon also has so many inexpensive options with great reviews!
Resistance Band :ย A leg day STAPLE. I use mine at the beginning of every leg workout as a warm-up to initiate glute activation and then throughout my workout to add resistance.
Hair Ties/Bobby Pins :ย You know that moment when you think, โAlright hair tie, youโve got this. Youโre flexible. You can do it. Just wrap around my ponytail ONE more time.โ Then BOOM. Hair tie snaps. Just do yourself a favor and keep backups on hand.
Adidas Ultraboosts :ย Iโve mentioned these many times before, so Iโll try not to be redundant. If youโre looking for the best shoes for cardio AND weight training, look no further! They run about a half size big, so size down!

POST-WORKOUT
Cosmetic Bag + Makeup :ย It took some time to curate my gym makeup bag since I wanted to keep my โgym makeupโ separate from my โat home makeupโ. I keep this in my gym bag at ALL times so that I donโt have to worry about forgetting something at home. Hair Dryer :ย I also wanted to have a hair dryer just for my gym bag (without spending an arm and a leg). Youโve probably heard about this Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer, and it’s just as good as everyone says it is! True life: I donโt take a full shower after my AM workouts. I just donโt have it in me to get up any earlier than I already do! SO with that said, this is great for drying the sweat from the roots of my hair (gross, I know). But WARNING: this thing gets HOT, so be careful if you have fine hair like mine. Regardless, I still love using it – especially for that price tag of $36!
Hair Brush :ย Best hair brush, hands down. I own 2 full size versions and this cute mini one!
Deodorant :ย Iโve used roll-on deodorant for years now. Itโs the ONLY thing that works for me!
Body Cleansing Wipes :ย If youโre an AM workout showerer, good for you. But if youโre like me, do yourself and everyone around you a favor and get some of these to use post-workout!
Facial Cleanser :ย ALWAYS wash your face after a workout! Major key for good skin!
Perfume : Lancรดme has the best perfumes IMO, and I love keeping a rollerball in my gym bag!
Dry Shampoo : The best dry shampoo at the best price. Enough said!
Protein Bar(s) : These are great for post-workout snacks or as a healthier dessert option. My number one favorites are Fit Crunch, but I also love Power Crunch and Quest too! SO YUMMY.
